Scholarships

The College of Letters and Science (L&S) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison celebrates and rewards the diverse talents and achievements students bring to enhance the university's mission to "discover, examine, critically preserve and transmit knowledge, wisdom, and values that will help insure the survival of this and future generations and improve the quality of life for all."

The college seeks to expand the Wisconsin Idea beyond our state and nation by providing an education that prepares students to contribute to and flourish in the multicultural, multinational world of the 21st century.

To recruit and retain quality students, the College of Letters and Science awards scholarships on the basis of a combination of factors, including: academic merit, creative accomplishment, financial need, diversity of background, force of character, and commitment to community. To be eligible for an L&S Scholarship, students must be pursuing a degree in Letters & Science. If a recipient transfers to another school or college on the UW-Madison campus or graduates, s/he will no longer be eligible to, receive L&S scholarship funds, unless explicitly noted in the scholarship's descriptions.
