Sonnets from 2000

The Misinformation Age

Created with a stroke of brilliancy,
From humble beginnings you did arise,
To lead the world to an age seemingly,
Free for all yet for none, full of lies.
Tall tales, and speculation are your friends,
Information drives your engines rate,
Your scope inescapably has no end,
Like a black hole nothing can escape.
Your present freedom instills fear today,
For soon I fear they will turn good to evil,
Capital does poison the righteous way,
Already the green venom makes you ill.
Your power can make us all freemen or,
Lead us to slaughter like year old bores

I Convey to Thee My Love

My dear conveyor belt I do adore
The way you move my backpack and luggage,
Tis when you roll away I do abhor,
The way you treat me like dirty garbage.
Some find in my obsession comedy,
That I get hot at the sight of your belt,
To my ears your gears are pure euphony,
To my heart you are a pulsating welt.
I wish that our love would accelerate,
But now I feel it's at an abeyance,
I wish I could move you like you move freight,
But now I don't think I meet height clearance.
My love is constant though you keep moving,
Roll back this way and we will get grooving.

[Untitled]

As I wait one more day and hold my thought,
I cannot feel the way I felt before.
It is you my addiction I have sought.
It is you that chills my heart to the core.
The sun chases the strong wishes away
And leaves me in exile waiting for you.
It has no power over me, I say.
It will not remain there my whole life through.
Undying life I bestow upon this;
My promise to you shall always be kept.
When winter has gone it is you I miss,
Your absence is one I cannot accept.
Forgive my disposal of you my love:
I do not mean to cause anything harm.
Other things divert me; you rise above.
Please do not bear this with severe alarm.
I should choose one thing to think about,
is eternally you without a doubt.
