Cross-College Advising Service at SOAR

Over one-third of student from each entering class arrives on campus undecided about what to major in, and many will change their minds at least once during the first two years of college. At the Cross-College Advising Service (CCAS), we understand it is perfectly normal to arrive at college not having decided on a specific major, and we are here to help you during this exciting time of your life.

Our staff is knowledgeable about the more than 140 undergraduate majors at UW-Madison. Whether you are interested in Education, Engineering, Letters and Science or any of the other undergraduate schools or colleges, our advisors will assist you as you make decisions about classes and explore your interests.

At Cross-College Advising Service (CCAS) we:

  • Are committed to helping you make a good choice about a major.
  • Are here to help guide you as you make decisions regarding academic interests and career goals.
  • Believe that students should be encouraged to explore their strengths, interests and values.
  • Don’t believe that there is one simple answer to the question “What should I do with my life?”
  • Offer personal career exploration services through our Exploration Center for Majors and Careers
