students enjoy the sun outside of the Kohl Center

Welcome to CCAS, First Year Students!

November is enrollment season! You should continue to prepare to register for your spring courses. This time you’ll be doing that independently, rather than with an advisor. Are you ready? Here’s a list of activities that will help you prepare:

Find out when you are allowed to enroll. You should receive an email from the registrar and your earliest registration time will be posted to your MyUW Student Center account.

Attend a pre-enrollment session. These sessions help you remember how to enroll, relevant requirements, and how to make the most of your spring schedule and activities. For a list of pre-enrollment meeting options, visit the following link: (insert ccas website link with pre-enrollment dates, times, locations here)

Reflect on your academic strengths and interests
: what things do you tend to do well in? What topics interest you? Which student organizations, volunteer experiences and part-time jobs will help you learn more?

Research majors! Use the list provided at http://pubs.wisc.edu/ug/majors.html to find out major requirements. Note any pre-requisites needed so you can start on those sooner rather than later.

Also take note if the major has a competitive admission process
Meet with your advisor. You can schedule an appointment by calling 608-265-5460
