ADVISING APPOINTMENTS

Drop-in Advising

Tuesday 1-3pm, 4:30-6:00pm (during academic year when classes are in session)
& Wednesday, 1-3pm

Students who have quick questions can stop by the Letters & Science Career Services Office for drop-in advising on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-3pm.  Advising appointments last 10-15 minutes, and students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.  Sign-up begins at 12:30 p.m., and students must sign-up in person. 

Consider using drop-in advising if you:

  • Need to write a resume but haven’t started one yet
  • Have drafted a resume or cover letter and want it critiqued
  • Need to know what help you can get at Letters & Science Career Services
  • Want to find out what resources are available in our resource library or on our website
  • Need help identifying a few places to start a job search
  • Have a question about eRecruiting
  • Have an interview coming up and have a few quick questions about how to prepare.

 

Career Advising

Students who prefer more in-depth help can alternatively schedule an individual career advising/counseling appointment with a Career Advisor.  Stop in or call the Letters & Science Career Services Office at 608-262-3921 for available days and times.

Consider setting up a counseling appointment if you:

  • Want to explore career options available to you
  • Need help deciding on a career
  • Don’t know where to start a job search
  • Want to create a job-search plan
  • Are feeling anxious, confused, or frustrated with finding a job
  • Want to decide whether graduate school is a good option for you
