Who does BABS07 affect?

Anyone matriculating to post-secondary instruction Summer 2007 or later must meet the BABS07 degree requirements. All new L&S freshmen in one of our affected degrees will enter under BABS07.

Students who matriculated to post-secondary instruction prior to Summer 2007 will continue in CURRIC71. This includes continuing UW-Madison students and transfer students. Continuing students have the right to declare BABS07 as their degree. Before doing so, please review the changes, consult your DARS (at MyUW) and your academic adviser.

Which degrees are affected?

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA)
  • Bachelor of Science (BS)
  • Journalism Bachelor of Arts (JBA)
  • Journalism Bachelor of Science (JBS)
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
Other degree programs are not affected. If you are a student in another degree program, either in L&S or another UW-Madison school or college, consult an academic dean about transferring to L&S. Once transferred, you can decide whether CURRIC71 or BABS07 is better for you.
