What is AAP?
Academic Advising
Your AAP advisor is an academic dean who will:
- Assist you with developing strategies to reach your academic goals
- Help in the decision-making process when selecting courses that suit your interests and degree program
- Respond to your concerns and serve as an advocate when appropriate
- Connect you to academic and learning resources offered by affiliated programs from across campus
Academic Instruction
Advance and achieve academic progress through other educational services! You can:
- Meet with AAP's writing professionals for feedback on your essays, examinations, research papers, and applications to fellowships, scholarships or internships
- Learn time-management techniques and consult with AAP's study skills coordinator
- Participate in study groups with other AAP students in our learning communities
- Get one-on-one help through personalized instructional support
Academic Enrichment
We also offer other ways to enrich your UW-Madison education. You will:
- Prepare for academic success at the New Student Orientation, where you'll meet new friends and learn strategies to thrive at UW-Madison
- Get and stay connected through two AAP publications: Shades (newsletter), and Prime (literary magazine)
- Maintain your academic skills while participating in a variety of workshops, from Writing the Resume to Finding an Internship
