Students interested in registering for this service are encouraged to sign-up within the first week of classes as spaces fill up quickly!
Study Skills Counseling: Allows students to receive individual counseling for study skills techniques (reading comprehension, note-taking, test preparation, time management, etc.). Contact the Study Skills Coordinator to arrange for an appointment. Online study skills brochures are also available.
Exam File: Old exams from the Math, Chemistry, and other departments are on hand for student use. Students may check them out to photocopy. Tests are available only during GUTS office hours.

Writing Center
At a basic level, the Writing Center provides individual help to students at various stages in their writing. Additionally, it provides classes on a variety of topics, including grammar and punctuation, documentation styles, and the writing of resumes, letters, and application writing. Students interested in receiving help on a paper or attending a class are encouraged to contact the Center well before their anticipated appointment or class date.

Chemistry Learning Center (CLC)
The CLC "offer(s) a supportive, multicultural environment where students can meet individually and in small groups with staff to work out effective strategies for mastering chemical content." The CLC greatly benefits those willing to invest their time and efforts into the study of chemistry. Upon interviewing with this service, students are encouraged to invest one hour per week in CLC-sponsored activities including tutorials, lab workshops, problem solving sessions and practice exams. The suggested amount of outside study time for most chemistry courses is 20 hours per week.

Mathematics Tutorial Program
The Math Tutorial Program is another service where students must apply for admission. Like the CLC, the Program promises results for those struggling in their 100- and 200- level math course(s). Students accepted to this program are required to attend two 50 minute tutoring sessions and put in 6-12 hours of outside study per week. The sessions comprise groups of 8-10 students working on practice problems on paper and at the board. Individual tutoring is also available.

Math Lab
Those not qualified for the Mathematics Tutorial Program may want to check out this service. Teaching Assistants are on hand during the hours posted above. The service fields 100 and 200 level math courses.

Economics Student Association (ESA)
Students in Economics 101 or 102 may receive free, one-on-one tutoring through the ESA. The service is "walk-in" only and students are advised to think through their questions before coming in for help. This is an excellent service since many private tutors charge $10-$25 per hour; AAP has also experienced a shortage of econ tutors over the past year.
