New Student Orientation
Dear Admitted Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students,
The entire AAP Staff would like to congratulate you on your admission to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and on becoming a Badger! We are also very pleased to welcome you as a member of the Academic Advancement Program (AAP). Congratulations on your admission accomplishments.
You are expected to actively participate during all four days of NSO (New Student Orientation), a unique orientation experience for all students who will be attending UW-Madison as new AAP members. NSO, an exciting four-day event, is designed to welcome and introduce you to the academic expectations of UW-Madison. NSO is also the first time you will get to meet your peers and begin to build friendships and connections important to your new life at UW-Madison. This event is free of charge to you and your parents/guests.
Fall 2008 NSO will be held during August 25th through August 28th. You will receive direct instructions on how to register on-line for this event at the AAP advising station during your SOAR day. If you are assigned to an advising station different from AAP, make sure that you connect with a member of our AAP Staff.
PLEASE NOTE: ATTENDANCE TO NSO IS REQUIRED. Please plan ahead and mark your calendar for this important event. Employment obligations and social or family functions are not acceptable excuses for missing the New Student Orientation.
SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS/GUESTS – Parents/guests are invited to participate in NSO activities only on Monday, August 25th from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. That will include a continental breakfast, lunch and a special session for parents. Please read below for registration information.
The agenda for the NSO is being finalized and will be sent to you via your UW-Madison student e-mail account in early August.
