My experience thus far with the Academic Advancement Program has been wonderful. I came to UW-Madison with a lot of questions and my advisor was always there to meet with me to answer everything. Without AAP my first year would have been more difficult than it needed to be. I quickly learned that I had to utilize their services because it would make my transition much easier. Throughout my first year of college I used AAP's tutorial services, enrolled/selected classes with other AAP students, participated in AAP Study Jams, and most importantly met with my academic advisor on a regular basis. I look forward to continuing my academic career at UW-Madison and using the Academic Advancement Program as a catalyst towards future success.

AAP was a great help during my first year at college. I was very excited to go to Madison a few days earlier then the rest of the students in order to go for the orientation. I was able to meet a lot of new students who were just like me, and able to find my way around campus. Another great thing about AAP were our mentors who helped us get through the year. It was nice to have someone you could always count on and someone who could answer any questions you had about college life. With AAP I was able to learn that college can sure have its ups and downs, but with the help from advisors, mentors and new friends it can become one of the best experiences of your life.

AAP was like having an upperclassman personally help me adjust. They knew what was and wasn't smart to do and where able to guide me through what could have potentially been one the most difficult years in college. The deans are great people who were all wiling to guide me in the right direction. My Dean put me a step ahead of the curve, while being a great mentor and friend along the way.
