Request to Transfer into the College of Letters & Science

The Summer 2012 transfer workshops will be held starting June 21, 2012.  Please read below for more information regarding signing up for the summer 2012 workshops.  Students who are eligible to submit the online request form to transfer into L&S prior to May 28th will not have their request processed until all of their spring grades are posted.**   For more information about transferring into L&S, please refer to For Current UW-Madison Students Wanting to Transfer into L&S.

For Freshmen & Sophomores

  • All current UW-Madison students with 53 or fewer total degree credits must attend one of the On Campus Transfer Workshops in order to transfer into L&S.

For Juniors and Seniors

  • All current UW-Madison students with 54 or more total degree credits can transfer into L&S by filling out the UW-Madison On-Campus L&S Transfer Request Form for Juniors and Seniors.  Transfer requests for spring 2012 are no longer being accepted at this time.  Transfer requests for summer 2012 will be reviewed and processed after May28th when all grades have been posted.    This form will not be processed if you are not a junior or senior and if you do not have a minimum CUM GPA of 2.0 and your most recent semester GPA is not a 2.0 or higher.

If you are currently a UW-Madison student who wishes to transfer into L&S, please note that you can get some basic advising assistance about L&S degree requirements prior to attending a transfer workshop.   Please feel free to stop by suite 155 Middleton Building at 1305 Linden Drive between the hours of 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (except for holidays) for assistance.   There will be no walk-in advising services from May 14, 2012 through August 31, 2012.  For academic assistance during this time period, please E-mail your undergraduate advisor or call the Academic Help Line at 608.262.5858 between the hours of 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday.

**The deadline to apply to transfer into the College of Letters & Science for the Summer 2012 term will be August 21, 2012.  Students will need to wait until the Fall 2012 semester if they do not transfer into L&S by August 21st.
