For current UW Madison students wanting to transfer into L&S:
The College of Letters & Science (L&S) welcomes current University of Wisconsin - Madison (UW-Madison) students to transfer to the College granted they meet certain requirements:
Continuing UW-Madison students must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA at UW-Madison and a 2.0 in their most recent semester at UW-Madison. First semester and new off-campus transfer students without a UW-Madison GPA are encouraged to wait one semester before initiating a transfer into L&S.
All students must attend a transfer workshop held in 70 Bascom. They are held until the 11th week of classes in a spring/fall term . We will have workshops over the summer.
Dropped Students
If a student has been dropped by another school or college on the UW-Madison campus and wants to transfer into L&S, the student must be readmitted by the original school or college prior to initiating an L&S transfer. L&S will not admit students who are in dropped status.
How to Transfer
- First semester freshmen through senior standing can attend a transfer workshop. If you have an established UW-Madison GPA, that GPA must be at least a 2.0.
- Workshops are held only between the 2nd and 11th week of the Spring or Fall Terms. There are only a few scheduled throughout the summer. Please plan accordingly.
