Information on Appealing your "Dropped for One Year" Status

Find out if you have been dropped

The College of Letters & Science offers the opportunity for all dropped L&S students to appeal their dropped status for immediate readmission. We provide this opportunity because we understand that sometimes special circumstances lead to a student being dropped by the University and that their academic performance over the past year due to these circumstances might not be representative of their abilities to be successful.

That said, not all students are encouraged to appeal. We highly encourage you to appeal your dropped status if you have a realistic chance of academic success in the immediate academic term. If academic success is simply impractical at this time, please consider waiting the recommended year out of school prior to continuing your studies and applying for readmission.

Upcoming Appeal Dates:

May 29, 2009 (Friday): for summer readmission only

June 5, 2009 (Friday): for fall readmission only for students who are not taking summer classes. If needed we'll have another date of June 12, 2009 (Friday).

August 28, 2009 (Friday): for fall readmission only for students who were dropped as a result of summer grades.

** As stated in the email for your drop-notification, there is no August appeal for dropped students not enrolled in summer classes.  You must appeal in May or June.

Please only contact us to appeal your academic drop AFTER grades have been recorded for the semester you've been dropped.
