Personal Statements for Med School Applications

The admissions committee turns to this part of the application if your motivation and decision is not clear to them after interviews or review of the secondary applications.  Therefore, it is very important that you make clear your commitment to working with people in crisis as well as a passion for lifelong learning in the sciences.

A strong performance on the Writing Section of the MCAT can be quickly discounted by a poorly written personal statement; similarly, a poor performance on the timed MCAT essays may be countered by exhibiting strong writing skills in the essays for your AMCAS and secondary applications.
